Did My Generation Neglect the Grace of God?

I cannot understand how so many of the younger generation of preachers (sometimes encouraged by a few older ones) can talk about how woefully the generation before them neglected to tell people about the grace of God. They boldly speak about it as though it was a settled fact of history and that their generation is going to correct the matter by speaking more about grace and less about commandment keeping.

Conversion Means Total Commitment

Matthew’s account of what is generally called “The Great Commission” is quite interesting in its wording as translated in the American Standard and more recent translations of the New Testament. The ASV reads

“Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” (Matthew 28:19-20)

The first phrase tells what to do

Go make disciples.
